Once you have selected the pupils associated with this parents' evening the system will work out:

• What subjects they all do 

• Who their teachers are

And then create a booking table ready for parents to select appointment times with the appropriate teachers.

Once the core essentials for the parents' evening have been established i.e. when, how long, who should attend etc, it is then possible to customise elements of the session.  Changes that can be made include:

When a Parents’ Evening session is created, its status is automatically set as ‘Draft’. In order for parents to be able to view information regarding the session, it needs to be ‘Published’.

1. Ensure you are logged into the Staff Message Centre.

2. Click ‘Sessions’ in the Parents’ Evening Zone.

A set is defined as a special group type in which the pupil’s subject and teacher are tightly linked.  When selecting pupils eligible for a parents' evening session, the system will search what subjects a pupil studies and who the teacher is for each subject, then assign them a booking profile e.g. start and end time, how long the meeting slots will be etc.  You can finesse the Parents' Evening timetable with options such as tea breaks, or special considerations for staff attendance, based on the customising tools deployed.
